The online School Store is an easy-to-build and easy-to-use store for a variety of uses from selling spirit T-shirts and caps to taking lunch money payments and alumni donations.
Items are entered into the store catalog through Web forms. They allow photos, descriptions and up to two options (such as color and size) which can be specified through dropdown menus (best for options like color or size) or text entry (best for student name and ID for lunch money payments).
Items are organized into categories for easy browsing. Popular or promotional items can be featured on the store's home page. Also, impulse items can be specified to appear on the checkout page for last minute purchase.
Items can be entered into the store catalog database but not revealed to customers. This is handy for preparing to release many items simultaneously. Items that are temporarily out of stock can be so indicated which allows them to remain in the catalog but prevents purchase.
Payment is handled through PayPal accounts which is the most widely used online payment service on the Net. It's secure, familiar, simple and easy to use. If your customers have PayPal accounts they have more payment options. If they don't have PayPal accounts, they do not need to create one. They can simply pay by credit card.
Fulfillment is up to you. Many products such as lunch money payments and alumni donations require no fulfillment. Event tickets can be easily mailed. Larger items such as caps, mugs and T-shirts can be mailed or made available for pickup at the school. You may specify shipping charges for items where appropriate.
