Do you have an accurate picture of what our federal government spends money on? Countless studies show that most Americans don't. The piece below from whitehouse.gov gives a visual representation of what makes up our federal budget. If you click the image, you will get a copy of the image that you can mouse over to see exactly what percentage each item is in the federal budget. Foreign aid??? Merely .6 percent of our budget. NPR, less than .1 of 1%. When our politicians are talking about cuts that don't involve health care, national security, social security, and other income supports...they are not fundamentally discussing the budget issue.
