It also ties in nicely with previous posts of late on the PISA international rankings, as well as the more general discussion we've had in recent posts regarding just what it is we want from our schools and what demands are we willing to ask of people to achieve this. This is an unflattering analysis of how the city of Shanghai and the other "Confusion cultural circle" countries scored at the top of PISA rankings.
